Fertilizing through your irrigation system

Fertilizing through your irrigation system is a idea that for relatively unknown reasons in not more widely known, accepted or utilized. A lot of people spend substantial periods of time looking after their garden and this idea has never crossed their mind.  Fertilization makes keeping your plants happy and healthy easier the reticulation transfers the fertilizer to the plants for you on a regular basis depending on which unit you choose and how often you turn on your irrigation. The water from the irrigation system first goes to the fertilization unit and then it goes through the fertilizer and taking the nutrients to the plants for you. There are various different units on the market some of them have multiple electronic openings at can be joined to different stations. Some of them have different compartments in them that can be joined to separate stations and there is also the simple ones which I tend to find are the most common. These are the ones that have one inlet and one outlet and they ate filled with the one compartment most of the time they are installed on the mainline. The reason that they are installed on the mainline most of the time is so that they can be utilized for all of the stations.

When installing a unit that can fertilize through your irrigation system it is important to install barrel unions on both sides of the unit this way you can easily take the unit out of the irrigation system if you need to. It is also a good idea to not install the fertilization unit directly unto the mainline instead put two tee’s on the mainline and out of one of the tee’s go to the fertilization unit then come out of the fertilization unit back to the mainline by installing another tee unto the mainline. If the install is done this way and the installer puts a ball valve before and after the unit and on the mainline after the tee that goes to the unit. Then the unit can be turned off and on with no effect on the irrigation system. Sometimes people only want certain stations have the fertilizer going to them. To achieve this instead of installing the unit on the mainline just install the unit onto the station line that you want to have fertilizer going to for example some people only want the rose garden to receive fertilizer so just install the unit onto the garden station.

Fertilization units are available from your local reticulation shop and cannot be found in a big green shed. Most of the time you will have to order them thought but they are well worth the wait. the fertilization units are great for vegetable patches strawberry’s taste so much better.
