Because Perth is dry city for a lot of the year most people that have a lawn or a garden have irrigation in one form or another to accompany their plants. Over time there is various problems that the irrigation system can have that will inhibit the irrigation system from fulfilling its requirements on of these problems that does occur on a regular basis through the summer months is the wiring on the reticulation system fails.
There is a number of reasons for this to occur the most common reason is that the wiring is old and this will cause the wiring to earth out. This happens because as the wires get older the plastic coating around them wears out and this causes the actual copper wires to make contact with the ground and then they earth out. Another reason that the wiring may fail on a reticulation system is because the coil on top of the solenoid has failed internally and this will cause a short in the system. If there is a short in the system this will mean that the station that has a short on it will not work. Depending on the location of the short and the effect that this may have on other solenoids. Other solenoids and therefore other stations may not work either . One of the other main reasons that the wiring on a reticulation system has failed is simply because someone put a foreign object like a shovel through the wires. Irrigation wires will not give you a electric shock when you break them this is because they are low voltage. One day you could be gardening next day reticulation not working happens all the time.
I have specific pieces of equipment that can inform me in a short period of time what reality with your reticulation system is and as far as the wiring side of a reticulation system they are invaluable. What I can find in one hour a individual without such equipment will take all day. If there is a problem with your reticulation and you do not know why I am always available.
